SESSION #1: Solving Examiner and Adjuster Pain Points with Automation and AI

    Session Description:

The job of a claim examiner or adjuster in the digital age is challenging, and a calendar-based claims review process often causes actions too early or too late. Exponentially growing volumes of data from multiple sources – especially complex medical information in unstructured notes – creates a big data problem. And the ever-increasing caseload that each examiner or adjuster must handle further exacerbates this difficulty.

Forward-thinking carriers and TPAs are now deploying intelligent digital automation to capture and validate critical data and create automated claim triage pathways more efficiently. Simultaneously, next-generation artificial intelligence allows carriers to dramatically reduce claim durations and losses by guiding examiners and adjusters to prioritize the most actionable claims daily.

Join technology experts Carl Capato, Senior Vice President of FastTrack, and Michael Saltzman, COO, and co-founder of EvolutionIQ, as they discuss the utilization of digital automation throughout the claims journey and artificial intelligence (AI) that delivers the “right claim at the right time” while providing valuable guidance that leads to well-informed, consistent risk management adjudication.

    Speakers:

Carl Capato, SVP of Digital Automation Solutions & Services, FastTrack

Michael Saltzman, Chief Operating Officer, EvolutionIQ

SESSION #2: The Future of Tech in the Insurance Industry

    Session Description:

In this session, we will explore the evolution of technology solutions in the life and disability insurance market. We will highlight recent innovative solutions and tackle the challenges that carriers often run into. Finally, we will discuss the top 4-5 things insurance business leaders should consider when embarking on the innovation journey. We hope this will be an interactive session and there will be plenty of time for questions at the end of the session.

    Speaker:

Don Russell, VP Strategic Accounts, OWL

Don has over 35 years of experience in the life and disability insurance business. Although Don started his career in group LTD underwriting, he eventually made his way into claim management in the early 1990’s. Since then, Don has had the opportunity to work on both the direct and reinsurance sides of the business as well as in the self-insured absence and disability space. In 2002, Don started his own company, SALT Associates and he ran that business until 2022. Don is currently VP, Strategic Accounts at OWL where he is responsible for helping insurance carriers capitalize on the benefits of deploying tech solutions to claim management.
